On How It All Connects
Born in the quaint town of Doncaster, England, job opportunities for the man of the house landed me in Boston, Massachusetts by the tender age of 7. Roughly 10 years later, after a series of less-than-surprising episodes growing up Muslim in a predominantly anti-ethnic community, my family and I found ourselves in the great Midwest. Sheltered under the auspices of a far broader-minded Chicago, Illinois, I embraced new attitudes to ancient practices, and nurtured early 90’s Bollywood principles of morality.
Now I’m a 24 year old second year law school student studying at Michigan State University College of Law. Over the past few years I’ve kept a keen eye on the state of the Middle East, with most of my keen eye looking at the socio-economic situation on the ground. During my undergraduate studies at Lake Forest College I majored in Middle Eastern Studies and Sociology and Anthropology. After spending a semester abroad in the United Arab Emirates studying at the American University of Dubai, I came back home to Lake Forest and completed a senior thesis deconstructing modesty and shame in Saudi Arabia.I’d like to call myself an enterprising entrepreneur, but several unsuccessful enterprises later, it’s tough to hang on to that title. This blog is part commentary on companionship, reflection on relations, and anti-existentialist exegesis. But it is by and large, none of the above.
Mohammed Suleiman Khan is a 26 year old recent law school grad who specialized in Corporate Law at Michigan State University College of Law. He dabbles in web design, community projects, computers, and poetry when time permits...which these days is hardly ever.
