On How It All Connects
Well I certainly knew this day would come, and should it really have come as any surprise that it would be on the 5th year anniversary of 9/11?
Late this afternoon I received word from my webhost that the “script” running on “index.php” was causing 80-90% CPU usage on their servers and had to be terminated. Now for those of you that don’t know, index.php is simply the mainpage for the Muslim Stories site, which is powered by the popular content management system Joomla.
So imagine my suprise to learn that a script was running on index.php causing a CPU hike on one of the internet’s best webhost servers! I contacted my webhost, Lunarpages, and told them I was running a version of Joomla that they installed for me! Pretty soon we were able to discover the price of my procrastination, since the site had become susceptible to hacks from my failure to upgrade.
And then in the instant I felt rage for the hackers, I was forced to push that contempt back towards myself. And tone it down….just a tad. Tough as well, since when explaining what happened to my fiance she didn’t wait for me to finish and went on dissing out the person who wiped out all the critical files on Muslim Stories. Right around the time she was saying “I hope his hands fall off,” I chimed in with the surreal truth from the series of unfortunate events:
