On How It All Connects
I just began my new job working at the USCCR this past Tuesday, and have been loving it since day 1, which admittedly was only yesterday, but was nonetheless still utterly loveable.
As one of 3 interns at the Commission I’ll be working on a wide range of issues, but am immediately assigned to work on the Federal Government’s Domestic Wiretapping issue and the Desegregation of Public Schools–something which prior to this Tuesday I had thought vanished after Brown II. For what it’s worth it would seem the problem is little to do with school districts persisting in segregation and more to do with their cases being banished to bureaucracy-ridden Administrative Agency oversight.1
Being my first real 9-6 job a few lifestyle changes have been demanded of me, specifically:
Needless to say some of these changes I’m not too thrilled about. But I am thrilled about this job, the opportunity to make a difference, and getting the ball rolling on reality (sadly the rest of the world chooses not to operate on my excellent 2pm-3AM daytime schedule.)
Stay tuned for more exciting news from the frontline of the War on the War on Terror.
